September 2, 2010 - Discovery Channel Drama!

discovery channel hostage situation
So, to simplify this story quite a bit, a troubled young man who had become significantly disillusioned with the state of the world, to the point of being downright delusional and maniacal, started a website a couple years back that blamed the Discovery Channel for all the world's ills, because of course, they convinced people to continute procreating with television entertainment like Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch and, of course, Man vs. Wild. On Wednesday, he finally decided to take matters into his own hands by heading to the Discovery Channel headquarters and taking some hostages. Well, as quickly as it had begun, it ended when he was sniped down without a hostage being injured. The good news for this nutjob is that in his death, he actually kind of accomplished one of his goals, which was to rid the world of problem-causing humans...one less polluter on the loose!

Hankmann asks...
Q: Why is common sense so un-common?
A: I assume you are not referring to the book by Thomas Paine, which is probably actually not all that hard to come by (unless you want an original.) Common sense would tell me that you are, instead, referring to the set of beliefs that are supposed to be inherently known to every species with a brain. Well, Mr. Hank T. Mann, the answer is good news for you. Common sense is not as un-common as you might think, it is just taken for granted. Like someone who watches the news and decries it for being so negative, maybe the problem lies with perception. It is easy to ignore those who routinely use common sense, and focus on those who occasionally do not, when in reality the former situation is far more common than the latter. So, while common sense may not be inherent, it is my belief that it is still quite common, no matter what the Tea Party does or says.
dancing meringue dog
Let's be honest. Who doesn't love a dancing animal? The music with the dogs barking is a little over the top if you ask me, though.
human toilet celebration
This would seem to support the argument that human beings are so innovative that we will never ever ever run out of ways to celebrate.
conan's new show name
Let us not forget that his new show will be on TBS, I think. Is that even a real channel? I don't know if I even get that one.
golf swing fire picture
We brought you the story about the guy who started a fire with his golf swing (no, it wasn't God.) Now, we give you the devastating pictures of the damage.
burger king for sale
Anyone want to buy a fast food chain that specializes in gross, insanely unhealthy processed foods? Awesome mascot with purchase.

Ever wonder why those Alaskan king crab legs you love so much are so expensive? Well, then, clearly, you've never watched the Deadliest Catch. Those crabs don't just crawl onto shore ready to eat, you know what I'm sayin?
