May 14, 2010 - Lebr-ON His Way Out?

Today's BIG news!
1. lebron james playoff elimination
It wasn't supposed to happen this way when celebrated local superstar Lebron James was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers 7 years ago. Of course, I'm sure the city of Cleveland didn't exactly plan to end up as an aging rust belt city in harsh decline, either.
2. times square accomplices arrested
Evidence continues to emerge that seems to indicate that the man arrested last week in a failed bombing near Times Square didn't act alone. So, I guess this was a team failure...not the first time we've seen that in New York.
3. facebook privacy concerns
Facebook users are up in arms, as it appears they are concerned that the info which they voluntarily divulge on the social media website may not be completely private. I know, crazy.
4. elena kagan softball lesbian
Gay activists are upset because the New York Times ran a photo of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan playing softball which, of course, insinuates that she is gay. Although, I assume if she looked more like Sarah Palin, no one would be jumping to that conclusion.
5. cannes robin hood
Film enthusiasts and ridiculous party enthusiasts are in Cannes for the annual film festival this weekend. They also got a sneak peak at the week's newest release, which is yet another version of Robin Hood, which apparently is still no match for the cartoon version.

Now drop that FRESH knowledge!
1. fake yo-yo master
Some guy has gone around the country pretending to be a yo-yo master in order to get on TV. Apparently the gig has worked repeatedly, which really makes you wonder why TV stations are so excited to even put a yo-yo master on anyways?
2. teacher fired for beating student
A teacher in Houston has been fired for beating one of his students...as captured on cell phone. You have to wonder if he would have been fired if he had lost the fight.
3. field of dreams for sale
"If you put it up for sale, buyers will come...when this whole housing thing bounces back."
4. college not for everyone
Some people believe that not everyone needs college to succeed. That's mainly just the marketing people at Devry though.
5. funeral expo asia
People in Asia do all kinds of crazy things to honor their dead. Craziest of all, they have an entire expo to share ideas on the subject.
